Thank you for your interest in this project.

The Loudon Youth Athletic Association (LYAA) in cooperation with the Merrimack Valley School District (MVSD) is working to construct two new soccer fields and a supplemental parking lot behind Loudon Elementary School in Loudon NH .

Recent Project Plans are located here (Over 7 MB, may take a while to complete)

We are currently approaching Phase I construction of the project. This phase will include bringing the site to base sub-grade conformity to state approved drainage plans, and loaming / seeding the fields portion of the site. We have already performed a few site tours and are willing to do the same for any interested parties . To date, We have already received a few proposals for this phase and are ready to move forward as soon as we can meet this phase's financial goals. You can click here to help right now by donating online.

Since LYAA is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization with limited funding, we are interested in receiving written proposals from area professionals willing to do complete the same scope of work for this phase of the project.

For your convenience, I’ve included additional project information below, as well as the written proposal requirements. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions you may have.

Regards,

Rick Broider

PROJECT SETTING AND DESCRIPTION

The MVSD / Loudon soccer fields will be constructed in an area of approximately 5.5 acres. The fields will be constructed on the MVSD-owned Robinson property located adjacent to Loudon Elementary School (LES), across Old Concord Road. The school is located at 7039 School Street in Loudon, New Hampshire.

The layout consists of 2 soccer fields, 1 youth size (70 X 50 Yards ) and 1 regulation size (100 X 60 Yards). The ingress / egress for the fields consist of a 55 space lighted parking lot that will double as overflow for Loudon Elementary School.

The field will provide a playing surface for a multitude of community sports activities throughout the year, primarily soccer and sports camps. LES will use the field for recess and P.E. classes.

The completed fields will add significant value to the community and therefore this project has won the support or the MVSD Board of Directors, the Loudon Youth Athletic Association Board of Directors, the Town of Loudon Selectmen and Zoning Board of Directors.

The site has been plotted and has had a wet land survey, and topographic analysis performed. Nobis Engineering, Inc. performed test pits on July 25, 2008 to evaluate the depth to seasonal high groundwater and calculate the permeability of site soils. The soils were observed to be well-drained glacial outwash with a percolation rate of 2 minutes per inch in the location of the proposed drywell.

Currently a site drainage plan has been submitted to the N.H. Department of Environmental Services (DES) to appropriate an Alteration of Terrain Permit. The fields have been flagged for clearing and LYAA is ready to accept construction bids.
